The meeting was called to order by Shane O'Neill, Chair.
Agenda: None.
Discussion
Our organization is still considered operational in case of disaster.
Details from the previous meeting were discussed, during which our group was privileged to have the director of the mayor's task force addressing the local flooding issues. He had been invited as a guest of committee member Mary Blanc. A member who works on the southeast side commented they noticed considerably fewer problems during the most recent flash flood since all the new construction had taken place. It seems the city's solutions are working.
There were no tornados that touched down during the round of violent storms 2 weeks ago, thankfully.
Donna Carr, has taken a new job and will no longer be able to serve as the liasison from Catholic Charities. The secretary will check with LTRC Treasurer Jim Collins to see if a replacement has been appointed. Donna continues to be a part of the committee and will continue receiving email communications.
Discussion then turned toward stretching out the time between meetings of the Long-Term Recovery Committee. A consensus was reached that the committee continue to meet every six months to maintain communication by email and so people would not forget the good work done when we all worked together.
The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 2:00 pm, at the American Red Cross. The secretary will notify Joyce Cosby to book the conference room.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:10 pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Teresa Julian
Secretary, LTRCSI
